This 145,000 square foot museum is dedicated to the history and science of playing, featuring the personal toy collection of namesake Margaret Woodbury Strong, as well as the National Toy Hall of Fame. The hall of fame features detailed exhibits on the 36 toys that have been admitted into the pantheon, including Mr. Potato Head, Crayola Crayons, LEGOs and the Slinky. Most of the museum is space where children can play, imagine, explore and learn, with areas such as the "Reading Wonderland", with landscapes drawn from famous children's books, and "One History Place", where children can dress up and experience what life was like in the 19th century. The museum is located in Manhattan Square Park, across the river from the city center.
