The 35,000 square foot George Eastman House holds the world's oldest museum of photography and is well known for its extensive collections of both rare films and photographs, which includes a collection of Civil War photographs by Alexander Gardner. One of the most complete collections of old cameras and cinematographic equipment is contained at the house, over 15,000 items in all. Visitors to the museum can step inside the 535-seat Dryden Theatre to view old, rare, classic and foreign films and tour the extensive gardens around the house. The historic home is located east of the East End Cultural District, near Cobbs Hill Park.
